October 5th, 2023, started like any other day for Morgan Ramos, but it quickly devolved into excruciating head pain, dizziness, and nausea. Rushed to the hospital, she braced herself for the worst. Six days later, after countless tests, doctors were still unsure of the cause, offering only pain management. This terrifying episode would become the unlikely catalyst for Crave Craze Kitchen, her burgeoning Las Vegas cottage food bakery that specializes in homemade cookies, brownies, and cinnamon rolls.

Ramos, a true Las Vegas native, found herself navigating a new reality. Diagnosed with chronic migraines triggered by long-term COVID—a condition affecting her autonomic nervous system—her previously fast-paced life ground to a halt. The woman who once ran daily now lived in fear of any light, sound, or smell that could trigger debilitating episodes. At the same time, she was trapped in a corporate job she despised, struggling to meet demands while battling constant illness. "Every single day I went into work already not feeling well, and then I would just get ridiculed by my manager, inducing anxiety attacks," she recounts. It was a dark period where she felt she had nothing left to lose.

The Whisk Was Always Waiting

Baking was never just a hobby for Ramos; it was a legacy. She spent her childhood in the kitchen with her Nana, constantly experimenting with new recipes. By age 15, Food Network captivated her more than any teen drama. Each year, she'd assist with holiday cookies, a tradition that now sees the whisk firmly in her hand, not just for holidays but every day. "I think this was always supposed to be a part of my destiny; it just took a couple of different routes to get here finally," she reflects. Despite earning a Bachelor's Degree in Education and Psychology, no traditional career ever truly aligned with her spirit.

The crossroads arrived in June 2025. After two years of suffering, medication, and a job that made her miserable, Ramos made a life-altering decision. "At this point, I had nothing else to lose; I was constantly sick, going to lose my job & the only time I felt happy was when I baked." The dream of her baking business, which had simmered for over a year, suddenly felt like a divine push. She quit her corporate job, a leap of faith that marked the true beginning of her new life. It took another three months to gather the courage and health needed to attend her first market, but the momentum was irreversible.

A Single Email, Endless Opportunity

Ramos's journey from a home kitchen to a community staple began with a simple yet unconventional idea. Rather than following traditional routes, she decided to embrace what made her unique, including her interest in the cannabis community. With little more than a dream and a burgeoning passion, she emailed over 30 dispensaries, requesting pop-up opportunities. Out of dozens of inquiries, only one responded: Planet 13. This single reply, a glimmer of hope amidst silence, led to her first event at Planet 13's Market in August 2025.

That initial pop-up unlocked a cascade of opportunities. Soon, Crave Craze Kitchen was a regular presence at multiple dispensaries across the valley, including Oasis, Top Notch, and The Dispensary. The connections forged through that one response became the bedrock of her expanding business. "Without Planet 13, we would never have been given the opportunity to work with so many different dispensaries and businesses," Ramos acknowledges. Today, she attends four farmers' markets, partners with four dispensaries, participates in holiday events at McKee Ranch, and collaborates with local businesses, all while baking over 300 goods a week from her 200-square-foot home kitchen.

Beyond the Batter: Building a Community

For Ramos, success extends far beyond financial gain. It's about the tangible joy her creations bring and the community she cultivates. "Success to me looks like people waiting in line to enjoy my baked goods, hearing my customers rave about our items, and making connections not only for my bakery but personally," she shares. She never imagined she would bravely tackle farmers' markets alone, nor did she anticipate strangers becoming friends through her delicious offerings. This redefined success is a stark contrast to her previous notion, where simply paying bills defined achievement.

Looking ahead, Morgan Ramos is not just baking for today; she’s building for tomorrow. She aims for continued growth—physically, emotionally, and mentally—and plans to spread Crave Craze Kitchen’s name throughout the Las Vegas valley. Her immediate goal is to acquire a food truck or trailer within the next year, which would allow her to expand operations and bring even more crave-worthy treats to her devoted customers. Ramos is a testament to the power of taking a leap of faith, turning personal hardship into a recipe for sweet success, and proving that sometimes, the only way forward is to bet on yourself and your passion.
